Recently started listening to a podcast called 99% Invisible.
The first episode I listened to was about the sound culture in hospitals, and the detrimental effect they have on patients, and what some doctors and researchers are doing about it.
They talk about the regulated, annoying and uninformative alerts most of the machines make, and how it could be so much better.
Listening to this episode helped remind me that in a very real (if indirect) way, as a musician I help to heal the world.
